Kind Words from Families I’ve Worked With
-
“Beautiful woman with an equally beautiful experience. I was fortunate to have a swift labor but I had terrible back labor. With the assistance of my doula Carla and her calm appearance and energy my birth was a breeze. She held my hand and never once let me feel like I couldn’t do this! She guided me with her heart along with her hands and made me feel like I was the only person in the world. Thank you Carla for my beautiful birth.”

“Carla was a great doula for my recent delivery- she was attentive and respectful and helped me to achieve the labor experience that I wanted. I highly recommend Carla’s services to anyone looking for an educated prepared empathetic person to help them bring a new life into the world.”

“I met Ms. Carla over zoom when the pandemic was still limiting personal contact and even virtually I could tell that she was going to be the best doula for our family. Once we met in person, my gut feeling was confirmed. Ms. Carla always answered any questions I had while pregnant and sent me information that helped me break down the medical jargon around pregnancy. When the day came that my first little girl arrived, she helped me have an unmedicated birth. Constantly attending to my pain management needs and teaching my husband hip thrust so that the birthing process progressed quickly. I also had Carla a second time around for my second daughter, who I also birthed unmedicated. I attribute so much of my beautiful birthing experience to the attentiveness of Ms. Carla. She is an angel who delivers angels”

“The energy that Carla puts into her work & her knowledge was very supportive. She added to the entire pregnancy and birth experiences. Every time I think of Hudsons birth I think of you. It’s awesome you are able to do what you have a passion for!”

FAQs
What is a doula, and how can they help me during childbirth?
A doula provides physical, emotional, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth, helping you feel empowered and supported throughout your birthing journey.
When should I hire a doula?
It’s best to hire a doula during pregnancy, ideally in the second trimester, so you have time to build a relationship and prepare for birth together.
Can I choose both a midwife and a doula?
Yes! A midwife provides medical care, while a doula offers non-medical, emotional, and physical support. Working together, they create a comprehensive support team for your birth.
What are the benefits of having a doula during birth?
Studies show that doulas can help reduce labor time, lower the need for medical interventions, and increase overall satisfaction with the birth experience.
Do doulas replace medical professionals?
No, doulas do not replace doctors, midwives, or nurses. They complement your medical care by offering continuous, non-medical support and advocacy.
Can I meet you before committing to services?
Absolutely! I offer a free initial consultation where we can discuss your needs and see if we’re the right fit for your birth journey.
What if I decide to change my birth plan?
Birth is unpredictable, and plans may change. I am here to support your choices and adapt to your needs, no matter how your journey unfolds.
Can a doula help with anxiety about childbirth?
Yes, one of my roles is to provide reassurance, information, and calming techniques to help reduce anxiety and build confidence in your body’s natural ability to give birth.
When should I seek lactation support?
Ideally, lactation support can start during pregnancy to help you prepare for breastfeeding. After birth, reach out whenever you encounter challenges like latching issues, low milk supply, or discomfort.
